Rewrite: Randers, April 9, 2014 Just a month has passed since the Holsted cattle abattoir began its operations, and the state-of-the-art facility is already breaking records daily. A total of 547 cattle were processed yesterday, marking the highest number of animals slaughtered in a single day at the facility, despite a one-hour halt in production. The IT system that manages the intricate machinery at the abattoir is still encountering some issues. Factory manager, Per Svane Knudsen, is pleased with the progress, stating that things are moving in the right direction and improvements are being made daily. Knudsen anticipates that they will be close to processing 550 animals today, indicating that the facility is nearly two-thirds of the way to operating at full capacity. The goal is to process 900 animals daily once the abattoir is fully operational. Besides slaughtering, other operations such as cutting, deboning, mincing, and packaging are all functioning at full capacity, indicating that the entire production line is operational. Following the recent shutdown of the old factory in Holstebro and the partial closure of the Skjern facility, staffing is nearly complete. Currently, there are 172 production employees working at the Holsted facility.
