Cermaq supports the UN Global Goals

During the Business for Peace event in Oslo, Jon Hindar, the CEO of Cermaq, along with other industry leaders, pledged their support for the UN Sustainable Development Goals, encouraging their colleagues to follow suit. The commitment made by these global business leaders states: "The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals offer a unique chance to eradicate poverty, tackle climate change, and combat injustice and inequality. By leveraging innovation, resources, and expertise, I will explore the business potential in creating a greener, fairer, and more inclusive society. As a business leader, I understand that businesses cannot thrive in failing societies. I will strive to uphold businessworthy principles in all my endeavors, aligning my business to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. I urge my colleagues to do the same." Jon Hindar further stated, "While salmon may not be the primary solution to ending hunger, aquaculture is essential to satisfy the increasing protein demand and ensure nutritious diets for everyone. The salmon industry is already quite progressive within aquaculture, and the transfer of technology and practices to other forms of aquaculture can boost the overall productivity and resource efficiency of global aquaculture. I will persist in collaborating with my colleagues in the Global Salmon Initiative, committed to our shared agenda, to determine the most effective way to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals."
