# Bob Carnell named CEO of ABP UK

ABP Food Group (ABP) has officially declared the appointment of Bob Carnell as the new Chief Executive Officer for its UK Division. Carnell will be transitioning from his role at Kerry Foods Consumer Brands Business in the UK and Ireland to take up this new position. He steps into the shoes of Tom Kirwan, who is set to retire from the role in October 2019\. At present, Carnell holds the position of Managing Director at Kerry Foods Consumer Brands business across the UK and Ireland. Over his 24-year tenure at Kerry Group, Carnell has occupied several key positions in commercial and general management. His achievements include overseeing the integration of Noon Products into Kerry Foods and playing a pivotal role in evolving Kerry Foods into a versatile multi-channel business. Carnell is an alumnus of Loughborough University. Frank Stephenson, the Chief Executive of ABP Group, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Tom Kirwan's significant contributions to the company over the last 37 years. He acknowledged Kirwan's crucial role in expanding and enhancing ABP's operations in the UK, preparing the company to navigate future challenges and opportunities. Stephenson also extended a warm welcome to Bob Carnell, noting that Carnell's extensive experience in the agri-business and consumer food sectors will greatly benefit ABP.
