# Beef Benchmark Awards winners announced by ABP

ABP recently disclosed the recipients of its Beef Benchmark sustainability accolades at an Open Day held at its research and development farm in County Carlow. The Beef Benchmark accolade encompasses six distinct categories: - The Suckler-Beef Steer category accolade was awarded to Patrick Flanagan from Ennis, County Clare. - Michael Clifford from Kilbrin, Cork, received the Suckler-Beef Heifer category accolade. - The Dairy-Beef Heifer category accolade went to the Lynch family in Ballinspittle, County Cork. - In the Suckler Young Bull category, Michael Cassin from Inistiogue, County Kilkenny, was honored. - Declan Hickey from County Kilkenny was recognized in the Dairy-Steer category. - The Ryan family from County Tipperary was celebrated in the Dairy-Beef Steer category. The launch of the ABP Beef Benchmark Report in 2022 marked a collaborative effort with the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF). The event also featured a series of presentations and demonstrations focused on optimal calf-to-beef farm management practices, guidance on multi-species reseeding, strategies for winter cattle feeding, and cattle vaccination protocols.
