Our operations within the pork industry provide employment opportunities for 9,000 families in Yucatán and other regions of the country. We are a company that values and acknowledges the daily contributions of each of our team members. At Kekén, we prioritize human rights and use the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals as a foundation to create actions aimed at improving social conditions and reducing inequalities in society. One of our objectives is to ensure our employment opportunities are accessible to the general population, without any exceptions. Charting an Inclusive Future: Our Experience with People with Disabilities In February 2021, we took a bold step in the business sector by being the first to publicly announce our initiative to include people with disabilities in our operations. Since then, we have been developing an inclusive work environment that has become a benchmark in the southeast of the country. Initially, our initiative was named "Suma de Talentos" (Sum of Talents), through which we began hiring our first employees with motor, visual, auditory disabilities, dwarfism, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities. Before launching, we conducted a sensitization campaign for our employees and made adaptations to our facilities to ensure accessibility. Our "Suma de Talentos" initiative led to the creation of our Kekén T-Incluye program, strengthening our culture of labor inclusion for people with disabilities and promoting formal employment opportunities for this population segment from our operations. Yucatán T-Incluye: Promoting Labor Inclusion At the end of 2022, Yucatán experienced an unprecedented event. Companies, educational institutions, civil associations, the State Government, and the municipal government of Mérida joined the "Yucatán T-Incluye" initiative, aimed at promoting and strengthening the culture of labor inclusion for people with disabilities, thus positioning the region as a national benchmark for formal employment access for this population segment. According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), Yucatán has a population of 2,320,898, of which 441,852 have a disability or some limitation, and of this group, 196,683 people are of working age. It is worth mentioning that, in just over two years, the Kekén T-Incluye program has become a national model for promoting labor inclusion for people with disabilities. It has been recognized by various agencies and organizations, with some of the main awards and distinctions received including the Éntrale 2023 Distinctive, awarded by the Mexican Business Council, and the Social Inclusion Badge as a Socially Responsible Company, presented by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi).
