# ABP Shrewsbury participates in local hospice Dragonboat Race

Last month, the ABP Shrewsbury crew dressed up in farmer and cow outfits to participate in the Severn Hospice Dragon Boat Festival. This yearly event is crucial for generating essential funds to assist patients facing terminal illnesses and their families with support. The group from ABP Shrewsbury, named Raising the Steaks, was overseen by Rhian Jones, the HR Manager at ABP Shrewsbury, and Jim Avery, the Business Unit Director. They secured a victory in their initial heat and finished second in a competition involving three boats. Despite their efforts, they did not advance to the final round. Although the final tally is still underway, the crew has managed to gather approximately £2,000.
