ABP Food Group Intensifies Focus on Agricultural Safety Initiatives ABP Food Group commits to supporting the BTYSTE 2014 through a special award sponsorship and an exhibition on farm safety ABP Food Group has declared its sponsorship for the BT Young Science and Technology Exhibition, aiming to highlight the importance of farm safety among secondary school students. The company will introduce the “ABP Farm Safety Award” and establish a dedicated area, the “ABP Farm Safety Zone,” at the renowned event scheduled for January 2015 at the RDS. This initiative comes in response to the alarming number of farm-related fatalities in Ireland during 2014, with ABP aiming to educate the youth on the hazards present on farms to foster a safer 2015 for farmers and their families. The “ABP Farm Safety Award” will honor projects that either enhance safety measures on farms or contribute to educating the public about farm-related dangers. ABP's goal is for the award to motivate students, regardless of their background, to explore and understand farm safety issues and the current challenges facing agriculture. In its collaboration with the BTYSTE, ABP will feature a booth focused on farm safety, where visitors can learn about maintaining safety on farms and strategies to avoid accidents. Additionally, ABP will partner with Embrace Farm in the Industries Hall. Embrace Farm, established in the wake of a tragic farm accident, commemorates the lives lost to farming accidents and promotes farm safety awareness. Seamus Banim of ABP Food Group commented on the initiative, stating, “Farm safety is a paramount concern for us, having been personally affected by the consequences of farm accidents. We are deeply committed to this cause, hoping our involvement will play a part in educating the next generation on maintaining safety in farming environments.”
