ABP has been awarded a total of 29 stars for 21 of its products at the prestigious annual Great Taste 2020 Awards, which are run by the Guild of Fine Food in the UK. 14 of the successful products were ABP’s own brand product labels, Tipperary Gold and Irish Nature. The award winning steaks and joints were sourced from three different breeds of cattle that are associated with quality beef: Dexter, Hereford and Angus. 12 of the products were dry aged in ABP Cahir. As part of a highly impressive performance, ABP received a coveted three star award for the Tipperary Gold 50 day Dry Aged Dexter Rib On The Bone, which means that the product was described by judges as extraordinarily tasty. The company was also awarded two stars for six of its products: Certified Angus Rib on the bone Joint; Specially Selected Irish Black Angus Rib on the Bone; Butchers Selection Striploin Joint; Tipperary Gold Dry Aged Angus Rib On The Bone; Tipperary Gold Dry Aged 50 day Angus Rib On The Bone; and Tipperary Gold Angus Dry Aged Boneless Rib Eye Roast. The company also received 14 one star awards for products including: West Cork dry aged 10oz angus striploin steaks; 10oz West Cork Angus Dry Aged Rib Eye Steak; 8oz Certified Angus Rib Eye Steak; 7oz Certified Angus Fillet Steak; Certified Angus New York Style Rib Steak; Specially Selected Tipperary Dry Aged 50 day matured Angus Striploin Steak; Butchers Selection Savoury Crusted 5oz Irish Ribsteak Beef Burgers; Spicy Crusted 5oz Irish Ribsteak Beef Burgers; Irish Hereford Prime Dry Aged 8oz Fillet Steak; Tipperary Gold Angus Dry Aged 10oz Rib Eye Steak; Tipperary Gold Dry Aged Angus Fillet Joint; Tipperary Gold 50 day Dry Aged Dexter Fillet Joint; Tipperary Gold 50 day Dry Aged Dexter Rib Eye Steak; and Specially Selected Irish Pork Fillet Stuffed with an Apricot, Raisin & Orange Zest Stuffing, wrapped in Dry Cured Maple Smoked Streaky Bacon. There were 12,777 entries into Great Taste this year and of those products, 205 have been awarded a 3-star, 1,294 received a 2-star and 3,818 were awarded a 1-star accolade.
