# 2021 General Assembly: Temporary dual leadership at Westfleisch

CFO Carsten Schruck reported at the annual meeting that Westfleisch had successfully navigated the "challenging year of 2020." Indeed, the company's slaughter figures, with over 7.5 million pigs and approximately 436,000 cattle, once again moved against the negative industry trend; revenue increased by 1.3 percent from 2019, reaching 2.83 billion euros. Furthermore, despite significant additional expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic and African Swine Fever, the net profit only decreased by 2.6 million euros to 8.1 million euros. This also benefits the approximately 4,800 agricultural members and shareholders of the cooperative: As decided by the meeting, they will receive a dividend of 4.2 percent on their share capital, along with additional special bonuses.
